Wine description
This Primitivo Gioia del Colle Riserva from Cantina Terre Carsiche 1939 is made from pure Primitivo grapes grown near Castellana Grotte/Acquaviva delle Fonti: the soil is karstic and the vineyards are at an altitude of 300/350 m above sea level. Following manual harvesting, which takes place in the last days of September, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats for 15 days. Ageing takes place in large oak casks for 6 months and then in bottles for a further 12 months.
Characteristics of this Apulian wine
It has an intense red colour with garnet reflections. The olfactory bouquet is very intense and alternates spicy notes with those of cherries. On the palate it is harmonious and full-bodied.
Recommended pairings with this red wine
Excellent with roast meat, mature cheeses and cold cuts. Serve at a temperature of 18-20 C°.
