Pinot Noir Spumante “Teucro” from Vanzini is an Extra Dry sparkling wine made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes grown in the hills of Oltrepò Pavese, in the municipality of San Damiano al Colle. The vineyards, located between 280 and 350 metres above sea level, grow on soils derived from calcareous sandstones and marls with a clay component and are raised using a traditional Guyot system and spurred cordon. Winemaking involves soft pressing of the grapes with immediate separation from the skins; the must ferments in steel tanks at a controlled temperature between 14 and 20 °C for approximately 15-20 days. After a few rackings, the wine matures in steel for about two months and is then refermented in an autoclave according to the Martinotti or Charmat long method for about nine months, followed by aging in the bottle for about three months.
Characteristics of this Teucer from Vanzini Winery
From an organoleptic point of view it has a straw yellow colour with greenish reflections and a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose it is intense and complex, with floral notes and fruity notes of apple, pear and banana. On the palate it is soft, elegant and well-structured, characterised by the typical roundness of Extra Dry and a pleasant aromatic persistence.
