Nebbiolo d'Alba Bricco Barone from the Piedmontese winery Marziano Abbona owes its name to the area in the hills of Monforte d'Alba: it is a long-lived, robust red wine with striking, intoxicating fruity aromas. The grapes are harvested manually during the grape harvest, followed by destemming and crushing and then alcoholic fermentation in steel with the aid of indigenous yeasts. After fermentation in contact with the skins for 19 days, malolactic fermentation takes place, followed by filtration and bottling, with a final rest in the bottle for 3 months.
Characteristics of this Piedmont wine
It has a beautiful bright red colour in the glass. The nose is striking with notes of violet, rose, red fruit and balsamic notes. On the palate, it has great structure thanks to long ageing in large barrels for over a year. The tannic texture is well defined.
Recommended pairings with this Piedmontese red wine
Try it with game, red meat and medium-aged cheeses: excellent with grilled meat, sliced beef and mushroom escalopes. Serve at a temperature of 16°C.
