Wine description
This red wine from the Apulian Giustini winery is made from pure Negroamaro grapes from the vineyards of San Giorgio Ionico, Taranto. The bunches are collected during the mid-September harvest and are then immediately subjected to winemaking, which requires maceration and alcoholic fermentation with selected yeasts for 8 days at a temperature of 24-26°C. Aging requires a stop in French oak barriques for 3 months.
Characteristics of this wine from Puglia
It has a ruby red color with purplish hues. The olfactory bouquet recalls notes of prune and cherry. On the palate it is of good structure, spicy and with a pleasant bitter note.
Recommended pairings with this red wine from Salento
Excellent with first courses based on meat ragù, baked or grilled red meats, braised and boiled. Serve at 18-20°C.
