Wine description
This Apulian red wine from the Tenute Girolamo winery is made from 100% Primitivo grapes grown in the company's vineyards located in the hills of Alto Salento. After manual harvesting of the bunches, the grapes are softly macerated and fermented in steel while the final ageing phase involves 6 months in French oak barriques and then a further 6 months in the bottle.
Characteristics of this Apulian wine
It has a luminous intense red colour with violet hues. The olfactory notes recall forest fruits, flowers and spices. On the palate it is striking for its dense tannic texture and strong but velvety taste.
Recommended pairings with this Apulian red wine
Excellent with meat dishes and mature cheeses. Serve at a temperature of 16-18 C°.
