Primitivo di Manduria Riserva 1921 VARVAGLIONE

Created as a tribute to the Varvaglione family, this red wine is produced from pure Primitivo di Manduria grapes. Following the harvest, maceration is carried out at a controlled temperature of 26 C°, with maceration of the marc even after alcoholic fermentation is complete. The final stage of ageing takes 18 months in large casks and a further 9 months in steel.

 

 

 

 

 

It has a very intense red colour with garnet hues. The olfactory bouquet recalls red berries, dried fig and vanilla. The palate is soft, with clear hints of black pepper and cloves.

 

 

 

 

Excellent with all red meat and game dishes. Serve at a temperature of 14-16 C°.
