Villa Solais in Cantina Santadi is a Vermentino di Sardegna DOC obtained mainly from Vermentino (about 85%) with a small part of Nuragus (about 15%), coming from vineyards in the lower Sulcis cultivated on sandy and clayey soils. The harvest is manual and takes place between early September and early October. After a soft pressing of the grapes, fermentation takes place in stainless steel at a controlled temperature to preserve the varietal aromas, followed by a brief aging on the yeasts before bottling.
Characteristics of this Vermentino of Sardinia
In the glass it has a bright straw yellow color with greenish and golden reflections. On the nose it is fresh and pleasant, with delicate fruity notes (especially white-fleshed peach) and a light mineral imprint. In the mouth it is dry, soft and very fresh, with a savoury and clean closure.
Recommended pairings with this white wine from Cantina Santadi
The pairings are oriented mainly towards seafood: fish appetizers, shellfish, molluscs, seafood first courses and light preparations based on fish or white meats. It is also excellent as an aperitif served very cold. The recommended service temperature is approximately 10–12 °C.
