The Celeo IGT Toscana Rosso della Tenuta Fertuna is an important red wine from the Maremma, conceived in the style of the so-called “Supertuscan” and produced only in the best vintages, in limited quantities. It is obtained from a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, two grape varieties that together create a wine capable of combining structure, elegance and softness, decisively expressing the character of the territory. As for production, the grapes come from vineyards with an average age of about fifteen years and are carefully selected. Winemaking takes place partly in steel and partly in wood, while aging takes place for about twelve months in barriques. This step helps develop aromatic complexity, depth and good structure, making the wine suitable even for long aging.
Characteristics of this Tuscan wine
On organoleptic examination it appears with a deep, very concentrated purplish red colour. On the nose it is broad, clean and balanced, with evident scents of berries such as blackberry and blueberry, accompanied by a typical balsamic note that characterizes the company style. On the palate it stands out for its great balance and finesse: freshness supports the structure, while tannin is present but well integrated and never aggressive. The finale is long, persistent and harmonious, with an overall feeling of elegance and opulence.
Recommended pairings with this red wine from Tenuta Fertuna
Excellent with important dishes such as red meats, braised meats and game, but can also accompany high-quality dark chocolate, creating an interesting and less conventional pairing. The ideal service temperature is around 18 °C.
