The Pactio Vermentino IGT Toscana di Tenuta Fertuna originates in the heart of the Maremma, in the Gavorrano area, where the vineyards are located in a hilly area characterized by rich soils and the constant influence of the Tyrrhenian breeze. It is a wine obtained from pure Vermentino grapes, coming from vineyards around seven years old. Winemaking takes place with a soft pressing of the grapes, followed by alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel at a controlled temperature between 14 and 16 °C for about twenty days, without any wooden passage. The wine then ages briefly in bottle before being put on the market, thus maintaining its freshness and varietal expressiveness intact.
Characteristics of this Vermentino from Tuscany
On organoleptic examination it appears with a bright straw yellow colour, crossed by greenish reflections that underline its youth. On the nose it expresses a clear and Mediterranean aromatic profile, with hints of pear, grapefruit and light floral and spicy nuances that recall the typical scrub of the Tuscan coast. On the palate it is a full and dynamic wine, supported by a marked acidity that gives it great freshness and drinkability. The mineral component is evident and accompanies a dry, clean and persistent finish, with an overall feeling of balance and elegance.
Recommended pairings with this Maremma white wine
In pairings, it is best expressed with seafood cuisine, especially appetizers and first courses based on fish, shellfish and seafood. It also lends itself to lighter preparations based on vegetables or summer dishes of the Mediterranean tradition, where its freshness and savouriness manage to enhance the aromatic components of the food without covering them, but accompanying them harmoniously. Serve at a temperature of 10-12°C.
