Tenuta Antonini's Passerina d'Abruzzo DOC VITIS is a white wine that interprets in a modern key one of the most interesting native grape varieties of central Italy, Passerina, traditionally grown between Abruzzo and Marche. This wine is born in the vineyards located between the Teramo Hills and the Adriatic coast, an area characterized by strong temperature variations that favor the development of intense aromas and a marked natural freshness. Winemaking is based on criteria of great cleanliness and aromatic expressiveness. After the manual harvesting of the grapes, which takes place during the coolest hours to preserve aromatic integrity, a soft pressing and temperature-controlled fermentation in steel are carried out. The wine is also aged in steel, so as to keep the wine clear, fragrant and faithful to the varietal characteristics of Passerina, without interference from the wood.
Characteristics of this Passerina wine
On organoleptic examination it appears with a bright straw yellow colour, often with greenish reflections that underline its freshness. On the nose it is fine and immediate, with scents of white flowers, citrus and white-fleshed fruits such as apple and pear, accompanied by light tropical notes and a delicate herbaceous tinge. In the mouth it is fresh, balanced and flowing, supported by a good acidity that gives liveliness to the sip and a pleasant savoury sensation that recalls the proximity to the sea. The finish is clean, harmonious and slightly fruity.
