Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo DOC “Ceras” from Tenuta Antonini is a rosé wine that represents one of the most typical and distinctive expressions of Abruzzo oenology. It is obtained from Montepulciano grapes, the region's leading grape variety, vinified with a short maceration on the skins, a technique that gives the wine its characteristic color “cerasuolo”, more intense than classic rosés and tending towards ripe cherry. Production takes place in the Teramo Hills, in an area influenced by the proximity of the Adriatic Sea and the presence of the Gran Sasso massif. After manual harvesting, the grapes are subjected to very short maceration, followed by soft pressing and temperature-controlled steel fermentation. The refinement continues exclusively in steel, so as to maintain freshness, fragrance and aromatic integrity, without the influence of wood.
Characteristics of this Cerasuolo Ceras wine
On organoleptic examination it appears with a bright and luminous cerasol colour, typical of the Abruzzo tradition. On the nose it is fine and fragrant, with scents of cherry, wild strawberry and pomegranate, accompanied by light floral notes and a delicate citrus nuance. In the mouth it is fresh, balanced and flowing, with a good structure for a rosé and a pleasant saltiness that lengthens the drinking. The finish is clean, fruity and slightly mineral.
Recommended pairings with this rosé wine from Tenuta Antonini
It pairs very well with seafood appetizers, delicate cured meats, light first courses, grilled fish, fried foods, and even less elaborate white meats, thanks to its ability to combine freshness and structure. The ideal service temperature is between 8 and 10 °C.
