This red wine from the Friulian winery Monviert is made from pure Cabernet franc grapes: this grape variety originates from the Gironde, a distinctly wine-producing area of France, and arrived in Italy in the early 19th century. Today it is one of the symbolic wines of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, so much so that it is the second red varieta produced. The destemmed grapes are left to macerate for 4-6 days with frequent reassemblies, in order to extract the maximum colouring, tannins and aromaticity of the grapes. This is where alcoholic fermentation begins, followed by malolactic fermentation, through the addition of selected bacteria. The final refinement stage takes place in steel for 3-4 months.
Characteristics of this wine from Friuli-Venezia Giulia
