Toscana Rosso "Obvius" BIO Salcheto

The red wine Obvius is a “Nobile wine” but young in the taste and in the character and it is made only by grapes. It is made by the first choice grapes of the Prugnolo Gentile and the Sangiovese Montepulciano of the Salcheto winery. This wine is create by respecting the ancient method  of the fermentation and maturation in steel but with a hint of innovation with the exclusively used of the grapes without any additional element. There are no sulphites, selected yeasts, tannins or whatever. The red wine Obvius born to explore new tastes in a modern cultural contest and the precision of the scents, the stability of the oxide and the limitation of volatile elements are the essential elements. This results is also possible thanks to the high grapes quality with perfect peels and to the right moment for the picking of the grapes. The following putting in tanks, the fermentation tanks with a CO² pressure produced naturally from the same grapes and the maturation and bottling without oxygen are those elements which make this wine particular. This last process is possible for specific technical corks.

The red wine Obvius is produced with 100% Prugnolo Gentile grapes produced in the estate of the Salcheto Winery in Montepulciano. The annual production achieve the 20.000 bottles which are all carefully checked and produced. This wine has to age for 4 months in stainless steel tanks and it follows 6 months of refinement in little glass bottles which guarantee the perfect cleaning of the suspended elements by giving a bright and intense red colored wine. The Rosso di Montepulciano Obvius is another dark and juicy wine with a great volume and deepness. The fruit is dark but the steel maturation permits the keeping of the freshness. The intensity is full and well structured. 

Suggested matches while tasting this wine from Salcheto winery

It is suggested the match with red meats and typical local structured dishes, rich of taste of the land and countryside. It is perfect with game, spicy and flavored with aromatic sauces. It has to be served in Bordeaux or Big Ballon wine glasses to permit the oxygenation and the spreading of the scents. The ideal temperature is 18-20°C and it doesn’t need any settling time.
