Wine description
This Apulian red wine from the Tenute Girolamo Winery in a special Gold Edition comes from a blend of Primitivo and Negroamaro grapes, cultivated at the winery's vineyards located in Valle d'Itria, the “land of Trulli”. After manual harvesting, the grapes undergo soft maceration and then fermentation in steel. The final stage of ageing, on the other hand, takes place in Alain Fouquet French oak barriques for a full 24 months, followed by further ageing in the bottle for a further 6 months.
Characteristics of this Apulian wine
It has an intense red colour with violet reflections. The bouquet is decidedly fruity, with olfactory notes of red fruits and berries; spicy and cinnamon notes are also well delineated. The palate is striking in its intensity and persistence.
Recommended pairings with this Apulian red wine
Try it with game, red meat, mature cheese. Serve at a temperature of 18-20 C°.
