Rosso di Montalcino DOC is a great Italian red wine and it is considered by many Brunello di Montalcino “little brother”. It’s made from 100% Sangiovese grapes. It presents a brilliant, ruby red colour.
Characteristics of Rosso di Montalcino
On the nose it releases, at first, a fragrance of black cherry and blackberry, then floral notes of wood violet, and in the end an aftertaste of licorice and coffee. Warm and soft in taste, it is a well-structured and balanced wine, which has a persistent end with a pleasant fruity aftertaste.
Recommended pairings while tasting this red wine
It should be served in a broad and transparent crystal glass at a temperature of 16-18°C. We suggest to uncork the bottle one hour before serving. It can be paired with main courses with meat sauce, white meat and fresh of mid-aged cheeses
