From pure Primitivo grapes from the company vineyards of Salento, this Leggenda Gold Series red wine is born. The vineyards are located on the typical reddish soils of Salento, rich in iron oxides; the harvest takes place in light overripeness, with careful selection of the bunches. This is followed by temperature-controlled fermentation of 24-26°C with selected indigenous yeasts. Thereafter, 80% of the mass remains in contact on the skins for 18 days and the remaining 20% continues maceration for 25 days. The final refinement phase takes place in barriques for 12 months.
Characteristics of this wine from Puglia
It has an intense ruby red color with purple stripes and an intense scent of blackberry and cherry, tobacco and spices. On the palate it is pleasantly spicy, with a cocoa and coffee finish.
Recommended pairings with this Apulian red wine
