This Salento red wine from Due Palme Winery is produced from 100% Malvasia Nera grapes: the vines grow in particularly loamy, medium-depth soil located between the provinces of Brindisi, Lecce and Taranto. After the grapes are harvested by hand in mid-September, fermentation takes place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 23-25 °C for about ten days. Ageing also takes place in steel tanks and then in the bottle.
Characteristics of this Salento red wine
It has a very intense ruby red colour; the bouquet is very complex, ranging from notes of red fruit such as cherry and raspberry to floral notes of violet and rose, as well as notes of Mediterranean scrub and spices. On the palate, it is enveloping with a delicate tannic texture. The finish is long and pleasantly aromatic.
Recommended pairings with this red wine from Puglia
