The "Acante" label was born in 2012. It is a variety that, although it is particularly present in Campania with the DOCG Fiano di Avellino, can certainly be considered from Puglia. It has Greek origins and takes its name from the “vitis apiana”, so called because the Fiano vine attracted swarms of bees. The name Acante in Salento dialect means "empty", due to its ease of drinking and adaptability to a large number of dishes. The grape variety used for its production is 100% pure Fiano Pugliese which comes from the vines of the DOC area of Salento.
