Wine description

Colle Ambro DOC is an important mature red wine. The area of origin is that of the Marche hills in the middle of the DOC area. The soil in this geographical area is of medium texture, with a conspicuous presence of clay. The grapes used for its vinification are those of Montepulciano and Sangiovese. The traditional red grape varieties of the Marche, Sangiovese and Montepulciano, contribute in different percentages to the composition of this wine with good body and structure. Aging for over a year in oak barrels gives the Colle Ambro DOC Rosso Piceno characteristics of elegance and softness. Vinification with the grapes harvested at full maturity, involves destemming and pressing, then fermentation with maceration for at least 7 - 10 days on the skins. Then proceed with the drawing off and malolactic fermentation. Finally the aging with maturation for about 12 months in cask and about 4 months in bottle. If well preserved, the Rosso Piceno DOC Colle Ambro wine can age from 3 to 6 years enriching itself with fruity and full-bodied notes.

Characteristics of the Rosso Piceno wine "COLLE AMBRO" Doc

The gustatory notes give us a wine with special organoleptic characteristics. The color is intense ruby red with purple reflections, very deep. The bouquet is broad and persistent with hints of ripe red fruit. The taste is soft, of medium structure, with just pronounced tannins. Aging thins more tannins and expands the structure.
