Plumbago Sicilia DOC PLANETA

Plumbago is a violet flower that grows spontaneously in the woods that surround the vineyards of Ulmo. 100% Nero d’ Avola grapes, cultivated in the old vineyard around Lago Arancio, that give us this soft and fruity version of this great wine variety of Sicily. Round tannins and studied aging make this wine really pleasant. It is perfect for the dishes of the Mediterranean kitchen, especially with vegetables and meat. After the soft pressing, the juice lies on its skins in inox tanks for 14 days at 25°. After the malolactic fermentation, managed in the same containers, the wine is poured in January into wooden barrels for 10 months. The aging is managed in barriques and tonneaux of 3rd and 4th passage.

Features of the Plumbago Sicilia DOC wine

Intense red wine with some delicate violet shades. Its perfume is characterized by plum, blackberry and cherry, while its taste recalls cocoa. This wine has a smooth approach in the mouth, even if the tannins are defined. Good freshness and great persistence.

It is fabulous for analogy with braised meat and sauces. You can drink it immediately or wait 10 years. It has to be served at 16°C.
