Moscadello represents the “pearl” of Montalcino. It is a sweet, fascinating wine that expresses a an extremely various range of perfumes, truly balanced by a soft acidity. “Moscadello di Montalcino Florus” late harvest, produced by Castello di Banfi, is a dessert wine produced with a careful selection of the best bunches, that are left drying directly on the plant. The maturation in barriques give to this wine its typical flavour and make it be great after some years too. It is produced with 100% Moscadello. The late harvest is planned around the second half of October. After the arrival in the cellar, the grapes are pressed and fermented at 15°C for a few months, in order to reach the alcoholic strength required. The aging is developed in French oak and continues in the bottle.
Features of “Florus Moscadello di Montalcino”
Gold yellow with amber shades. The perfume is rich of pleasant aromas that recall candied orange, honey and liquorice. The taste is structured, balanced and sour. Great final.
