Wine description

The red wine Bruciato of the Guado al Tasso estate has the DOC Bolgheri certification. This refined and elegant wine is produced by the blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 15% Syrah grapes. The Bruciato is the “young brother” of the Guado al Tasso. “This wine is characterized by a modern style. It comes from the high quality vineyards but it doesn’t represent the highest quality even if the quality is always the main aspect”. The aging period takes place in barrels for 8 months and in bottle for 4 months: the result is a very intense and soft wine. The selected grapes come from the vineyards extended for 80 hectares where the best characteristics of the Bolgheri territory are expressed. The fermentation and maceration take place in thermos-conditioning tanks at 28°-30°C for 10-15 days. A part of the Syrah and Merlot musts are kept at low temperatures during the fermentation to preserve the varietal aromas. The malolactic fermentation takes place a part in oak barrels and the other part in stainless steel tanks before the end of the year. Finally, the wine is poured and re-put in barrels where it stays for 7 months before the bottling. It has to stay for further 4 months in bottle.

Characteristics of the Bolgheri "Il Bruciato" Doc wine

The Bruciato Guado al tasso Bolgheri DOC has a deep red color. The smell has an intense red ripe fruit aroma followed by sweet spicy and coffee hints. The taste is harmonic and enveloping with silky tannins and a spicy and sweet final.

Suggested pairings with this red wine from Tuscany

The red wine Bruciato has to be matched with sauces. The red meat sauce and the aged cheeses are perfect. The particular spicy aroma makes it perfect for pizzaiola meat. It has to be served in Ballon wine glasses at 18°C.
