Montefalco Sagrantino 2020 DOCG Benincasa

Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG is a red wine from Umbria region.  Grapes that give life to this wine are 100% Sagrantino. Bunches are harvested and put in wooden cases. Then grapes get destemmed and carefully pressed. After a 20 days fermentation, wine is moved in barriques where refinement takes place for at least 18 months.

Characteristics of Sagrantino di Montefalco wine

This Sagrantino di Montefalco presents a ruby red colour with reflections due to tannins. Bouquet is dominated by blackberry and tobacco notes. Its characteristic tannic amount leads it a strong but refined taste.

Recommended pairings while tasting this red wine

It should be served in a wide crystal glass at a temperature of 18-20°C. Decantation is suggested 2 or 3hours before serving to enhance its qualities. This wine can be paired with grilled or stewed red meat, game meat and white meat.
