Merlot "GRAF DE LA TOUR" DOC VILLA RUSSIZ

This Merlot praises the denomination DOC Collio del Friuli Venezia Giulia. 100% Merlot cultivated in the vineyard of the property, cultivated on soils composed by marl and clay with south-west exposition. This is considered a prestigious collocation for the production of this wine.  As the tradition wants, after the manual harvest, the fruits are separated from the stalks. The fermentation-maceration starts and lasts for 20 days. The maturation, managed in little barrels made of french oak (225 liters), lasts for 24 months. The wine is then assembled in steel containers. After the bottling, the wine ages for other 10 months. A classic that belongs to the viticulture of Friuli. Merlot “Graf De La Tour” by Villa Russiz is the result of the collection of the grapes from a single vineyard of 25 years old, located next to the winery. Here the grapes reach the perfect maturation that gives the wine its perfection. Vinified in steel, it is left 24 months in barrique before a furter maturation in the bottle. The result is a red wine that is, soft, enchanting, spicy, fruity and with a great longevity.

Perfect with prestigious cuts of red and white meats, even roasted. It is excellent with game too. You can drink it alone as a meditation wine, or accompained with dark chocolate. It has to be served at 18°C in a wide wine glass that allows the correct oxygenation and the diffusion of the perfume.
