This bottle is sold in a screen-printed wooden case.
The vines used for its vinification are represented by a complex Blend of grapes which are 64% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon , and 10% Cabernet Franc, as well as 9% Petit Verdot. The harvest for the refined Ornellaia cellar took place by hand in 15 kg boxes and the bunches were selected on a double sorting table before and after destemming and subjected to a soft pressing at the end. Each variety and parcel was vinified separately.The alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel vats at temperatures between 26-30°C for two weeks which was followed by maceration for about 10-15 days. Malolactic fermentation began in steel vats, and was completed after transfer to barriques (25% new and 75% second passage). The wine remained in barriques in the Ornellaia cellar at a controlled temperature for a period of about 15 months. After the first 12 months, the blending was carried out and then reintroduced into the barriques where it spent another 3 months. The wine remains in the bottle for six months before being released on the market.
Characteristics of Bolgheri Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia
On organoleptic examination it appears as a wine with an intense and noble ruby red appearance. The bouquet is full and fruity, intense and ripe, underlined by finely spiced and toasted notes. The taste on the palate is round and enveloping at the same time. The soft and silky tannins dance in the mouth and give sublime sensations of robustness and body.
