Wine description

This dense, fine wine with delicate aromas is born from pure Nebbiolo grapes from the vineyards of Monforte d'Alba, in particular from the Pressenda vineyard from which it takes its name, which in turn is located in the Castelletto area: it is one of the most appreciated subregions for the production of Barolo. The soil is white, silty and very calcareous and the south-east facing vineyards are located at an altitude ranging from 340 to 360 m above sea level. The harvest for this Piedmont red wine takes place in mid-October, at optimal ripeness; this is followed by maceration and alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled steel with malolactic wood. The final stage of refinement requires stopping in French oak wood of various sizes.

 


Characteristics of this Piedmont wine

It has a garnet red color, typical of Barolo, whose reflections tend towards orange as the wine ripens. The olfactory notes are particularly fragrant and resemble ripe red fruits such as cherries and plums but also wilted flowers, tobacco and spices. On the palate it is fresh, elegant and powerful, with structured but silky tannins. The finish is persistent and with a pleasant return of the olfactory notes.
