Descrizione del vino

The Sauvignon has French origins and it is produced worldwide. It is a refined white wine, lightly aromatic with green-yellow color. The scent is floral with elder and nettle remarked aromas with a light taste of green paprika and gooseberry. It is surprising its freshness and sapid taste. This wine is produced with 100% Sauvignon grapes. The vineyards come from the area which is honored with the Südtirol-Alto Adige DOC certification and they are located at Termeno and Montagna on calcareous, clay and pebbly soils at 400-500 meters with a profit of 70 hectoliters. Firstly the grapes are softly pressed  and  then they have to ferment at 18°C in steel tanks. There is no malolactic fermentation.

 

Characteristics of the Sauvignon wine produced by Tramin Winery

It has a yellow color tending to a green one similar to the dried hay color. There is a remarkable floral bouquet of elder and nettle, very wide and intense. The taste has green paprika and gooseberry aromas which are very fresh and sapid. It can be aged until 5 years.

 

Suggested pairings with this great white wine

It is perfect with light and fresh courses so for example in the appetizers with salty snacks or herbs creams. It is perfect with the asparagus omelet  or with grilled meats. It can be matched also to a risotto with sea food. It has to be served at 12°C in tulip wine glasses to concentrate the scent through the nose.
