Princely, refined, and immensely elegant. Vinified with a blend of 34% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc, and 20% Petit Verdot. Harvesting, as per the winery's tradition, takes place in the early 19th century. Ornellaia The grapes were hand-picked into 15-kg crates, and the bunches were selected on a double sorting table before and after destemming, and finally soft-pressed. Each variety and each parcel was vinified separately. Alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel vats at temperatures between 26-30°C for a week, followed by maceration for a total of approximately 10-15 days. Malolactic fermentation took place primarily in oak barrels (70% new and 30% used). The wine remained in barriques in Ornellaia's temperature-controlled cellar for approximately 18 months. After the first 12 months, it was blended and then returned to the barriques for an additional 6 months. The wine remained in bottle for another 12 months before being released for sale.
