Montepulciano d'Abruzzo "Montipagano" DOC BIO UMANI RONCHI

This fantastic label by Umani Ronchi, produced with 100% Montepulciano, expresses the traditions of Abruzzo. The vineyards are cultivated in the estate Roseto degli Abruzzi, where the soils are mainly characterized by sands, clay and grabble. The plants are located at 200 meters above the sea level while the exposition is south-east. 1600 stumps per hectare, trained with Tendone method. As the biological agriculture wants, the manual harvest is planned between the end of September and the first decade of October. The wine making consists in a first phase of soft pressing and elimination of stalks, followed by 10-12 days maceration in steel tanks at 26-28°C. After the alcoholic and the malolactic fermentation, the wine ages in oak barrels.

Features of the "Montipagano" DOC BIO wine

The organoleptic exam shows a ruby red colour with violet shades. Its fruity perfume recalls strawberry and fresh fruits. The taste is fruity and medium-structured.

This red wine is perfect with red meat but fabulous with baked lamb. It has to be served at 16°C in a wide wine glass that helps oxygenation.
