This Monferrato Pin red wine from Cantina La Spinetta comes from a blend of Nebbiolo and Barbera grapes: it is a warm and balanced wine, elegant thanks to the Nebbiolo grape variety and consistent thanks to the Barbera grape variety. It is a tribute to Giuseppe Rivetti, known as "Pin," founder of the La Spinetta company, but also to Piedmont as his homeland. Winemaking takes place separately for the two grape varieties: maceration and alcoholic fermentation take place in steel for 15 days. This is followed by malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels with subsequent aging for 12 months. A further final refinement takes place in bottle for another 10 months.
Characteristics of this Piedmont wine
It has a bright ruby red color with an olfactory bouquet reminiscent of black cherry, black pepper, undergrowth. On the palate it is harmonious, velvety with hints of purple, blackberry. The finish is soft and enveloping.
