Description du vin

An Ancient variety created by the union of Moscato and Catarratto that produces a wine characterized by complexity and concentrated aromaticity. It is cultivated in on the hills near Case Vecchie, in the territories of the estate of Regaleali. The particularity of this wine consists in the harvest in different periods. Part of the grapes is harvested in advance to give freshness and minerality, the other part is harvested later to give structure. This wine is like the fairy tales, a loyal travel companion. It is produced with 100% Grillo variety, cultivated in the vineyards of Sant’Anna and Piana Case Vecchie, that cover 8 hectares. In the tradition of fairy tales, “grillo” (cricket) is the representation of the perfect counsellor who, with his singing, announces happy events. In the oenological panorama it is also an ancient vine variety diffused in the zone of Trapani. It is the base for the production of Marsala and it can be harvested in different periods.  

 

Features of this wine produced by Tasca d’Almerita

Shiny and intense straw yellow colour. The scent expresses a complex aroma that recalls fresh fruits, citrus fruits and Mediterranean flowers. Its taste is fresh and persistent, characterized by richness and a good structure. Clear final.

 

Recommended food pairings while tasting this “Grillo Cavallo delle Fate Sicilia DOC”

Excellent with appetizers and light dishes, like salads. It has to be served at 10°C in a high, wide wine glass that helps the diffusion of the perfumes.
