This Franciacorta Riserva comes from the name of the family home where the Berlucchi brothers grew up: its production uses a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes from the vineyards of the Borgonato and Torbiato hills; the vineyards face south/southeast at approximately 250 meters above sea level. During the manual harvest, only the best bunches of Mantighì and Tre Camini crus are harvested; this is followed by soft pressing of the whole grapes and initial fermentation in steel. Once this phase is complete, part of the fermentation is completed in 550-liter French oak tonneaux, a long stay on the fine lees with frequent refilling in the tank and batonnage in tonneau. Aging requires a 90-month stay on the yeasts, with at least a year in the bottle. The degorgément takes place with liqueur d'expedition consisting of a portion of Chardonnay reserve wine aged for 24 months in French oak tonneaux.
Characteristics of this Franciacorta Riserva
It has a deep golden yellow color with bright reflections. Rich, enveloping olfactory notes reminiscent of spices and candied citrus. On the palate it is persistent and mineral.
