CANTINA PUIATTI

Puiatti is a winery that has built its identity on three pillars: Friulian territory, technical precision, and essential style. The result is a highly recognizable range of wines, centered on freshness, flavor, and immediacy, with a modern and rigorous imprint that distinguishes it from the contemporary Friuli scene. The Puiatti Winery is a historic facility in Friuli Venezia Giulia, founded in 1967 in Romans d'Isonzo, in the heart of the Isonzo area. Founded by Vittorio Puiatti, it was from the beginning one of the pioneering companies in reinterpreting Friulian grape varieties with a modern twist, with a very precise and innovative approach for the time. Over time, the winery has evolved while maintaining a clearly recognizable identity: today it is structured on approximately 44 hectares between Collio and Isonzo, some of the most suitable areas in Friuli for the production of white wines. One of the central elements of his philosophy is his connection with the Isonzo region, an area characterized by gravelly and mineral-rich soils, influenced by a unique microclimate where continental winds and sea breezes meet. This natural balance promotes slow ripening of the grapes and the production of very fresh, savoury and aromatic wines. From a stylistic point of view, Puiatti is recognized for a very clear choice: winemaking takes place almost exclusively in steel, with refinements on the fine lees and an approach that avoids wood to preserve the purity of the fruit and the direct reading of the grape variety. Business philosophy is often summed up in one key concept: “less intervention, more identity”. The goal is to enhance every variety —from native grape varieties like Friulano and Ribolla Gialla to international ones like Sauvignon and Pinot Grigio — while always maintaining a recognizable style of cleanliness, linearity, and elegance. Over the years, the winery has also developed a strong contemporary dimension, becoming a point of reference for a modern reading of Friulian wine: not traditional in the classical sense, but essential, technical and very coherent. This identity is also reflected in the architecture of the winery, designed with clean, minimalist lines, in continuity with the style of the wines.
